Internal circuit protection includes thermal shutdown with hysteresis, under-voltage lockout UVLO and crossover-current protection. A3967: Microstepping Driver with Translator
The translator is the key to the easy implementation of the ASLB. This current-decay control scheme results in reduced audible motor allegr, increased step accuracy, and reduced power dissipation.
The EasyDriver has an on board voltage regulator for the digital interface that can be set to 5V or 3. We default it to slow decay mode, but you can override with your own voltage on this pin. EasyDriver drives bi-polar motors, and motors wired as bi-polar i. By simply inputting one pulse on the STEP input the motor will take one step full, half, quarter, or eighth depending on two logic inputs.
Each rising edge of this signal will cause one step or microstep to be taken. The tabs are at ground potential and need no insulation. This EasyDriver has been co-designed with Brian Schmalz. This is the power input to the Easy Driver.
The ASLB is a complete microstepping motor driver with built-in translator. Connect the negative side of your power supply, as well as from any other boards you are using to drive the Easy Driver to one or more of the GND pins. If this is not your local representative, find your local sales rep here. This should be a 6V to 30V, 2A or more power supply that is clean low ripple. There are no phase-sequence tables, high-frequency control lines, or complex interfaces to program.
Flyback diodes are required to prevent voltage spikes when the power to the coil is turned off and the stepper motor acts like a generator briefly back-emf.
The ASLB includes a fixed off-time current regulator that has alleggo ability to operate in slow, fast, or mixed current-decay modes. There are no news items available for this product. Bipolar stepper qllegro always have only 4 wires.
